Over 150 professionals attended this year's NCATOD Conference in High Point, NC. Empowered Ideas was brought aboard early in the planning stages of the conference, and assisted in all aspects of the conference throughout the process. For a second year in a row, Empowered Ideas Co-Founders, James Wong and Virginia Johnson, attended INBOUND -- the world's largest inbound marketing conference. While much of the information was quite familiar to the EI Team, we did gain some valuable insight into how some national level nonprofits were using inbound marketing to increase brand awareness and fundraising returns. Empowered Ideas Co-Founder, Virginia Johnson was invited to participate as an expert panelist for the "Maing News: Media Access Workshop for Nonprofits," hosted by the Triangle Association of Black Journalists (TABJ), an affiliate of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Audience members represented over a dozen Triangle area nonprofits, as the panel of experts (Print, Radio, TV and Digital Media) talked about the best practices required to getting the attention of the media.Empowered Ideas Co-Founder, James Wong (@CommunityMGR), was invited to be a guest on #PrevChat, a bi-weekly discussion on Twitter which provides an opportunity to connect and share resources, ideas and possibilities with other individuals who are equally energized about prevention and wellness.
