Social Media Engagement
Empowered Ideas Co-Founder, James C. Wong, was recently interviewed by Robert Lerose, a writer from Bank of America's Small Business Community.
Lerose's article focuses on how small businesses can leverage digital and social media strategies to help boost business during the sometimes slow summer season.
"We helped them with campaigns that specifically targeted segments of their clientele—triathletes, athletes, and sports enthusiasts—during the spring and summer season when their clientele is most active," Wong explains. "Right around the spring season, we started promoting massage packages that are targeted to pre-competition training," he notes. "We said how medical massage—not relaxation massage—can help prepare your body in the days before and make a huge impact on your performance. The campaign worked very well for them."Read the Entire Article: Sun, Fun, and Sales: Getting the most out of summer marketing strategies
Empowered Ideas Co-Founder, James Wong (@CommunityMGR), was invited to be a guest on #PrevChat, a bi-weekly discussion on Twitter which provides an opportunity to connect and share resources, ideas and possibilities with other individuals who are equally energized about prevention and wellness.
With an increasing number of nonprofits and coalitions engaging in social media and digital communications, it's increasingly critical that these organizations develop digital policies, strategies and empower their team members through training.

Today, myself and Community Managers all across the nation are celebrating our successes, during the 3rd Annual Community Manager Appreciation Day (#CMAD). This internet-based pop culture celebration was originally founded back in 2010 by Jeremiah Owyang, of whom dubbed the 4th Monday of January as a day to reflect and to give thanks to Community Managers across the online landscape. 2012 marks my 18th year of managing online communities in various forms and industries. It is only as I reflect upon my own personal and professional experiences, that I realize how much the world has changed through technology and its adoption.
